My favorite things…

…about Christmas!

We decorated on Saturday night (and it rained Saturday morning! We all went out in the rain and played in it, even though there wasn’t very much, just a few puddles…)

Here’s our Christmas tree this year…

Stockings! Mom made Candace’s, gramma made Nate’s and Cait’s, and Aunt Krissy made mine.

Looking up the Christmas tree! (Yeah, it’s fake… we can’t really get real ones here!) Kitty has decided she likes to climb up it… and knock ornaments off… and she still hasn’t learned that if she does that, she gets squirted with water.

And sometime we’re going to make wassail, bake molasses crinkles, gingerbread, buckeyes, and maybe thumbprint cookies.

But my favorite thing…
Is thinking about God’s love for us.
And the day True Love came down.
And the day True Love died.
And the awesome miracle of the first Christmas.

Merry Christmas. 🙂

Come, Thou long expected Jesus
Born to set Thy people free;
From our fears and sins release us,
Let us find our rest in Thee.
Israel’s Strength and Consolation,
Hope of all the earth Thou art;
Dear Desire of every nation,
Joy of every longing heart.

Born Thy people to deliver,
Born a child and yet a King,
Born to reign in us forever,
Now Thy gracious kingdom bring.
By Thine own eternal Spirit
Rule in all our hearts alone;
By Thine all sufficient merit,
Raise us to Thy glorious throne.

    awwww, this was neat, Kyleigh. my family had a “fake” tree for all the years in the Philippines too. ours had a few bald spots where rats had eaten the “needles” while it was in storage. 😀

    Everything looks great!
    Chester likes to climb up the tree too. Stupid kitty.
    I love the stockings on the staircase. We don’t have a fireplace or a staircase, so we use a a shelf.
