Rest, my soul

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Even with all the weariness in motherhood, there is rest for my soul. In Christ I may cease from all my labors.

Time in the Word and in prayer is to rest my soul.
Letting go of to do’s and dreams of what I pictured my mothering looking like is to rest my soul.
Focusing on what matters is to rest my soul.

“Run, John, run, the law demands,
But gives us neither feet nor hands.
Far better news the gospel brings,
It bids us fly and gives us wings.”

Strivings cease.
