Why “the Sojourning Dunns?”
We moved 4 times in our first 5 years of marriage, two of those international (and an international move for me to get married!). The only way to survive such frequent moves is to remember that our time on earth is just us passing through, we are sojourners here, citizens of a coming Kingdom that cannot be shaken, so I thought it fitting that our family “record” reflect the transient nature of our lives here on earth.

Why do you talk so much about perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs)?

After experiencing prenatal anxiety,  and postpartum anxiety, depression, OCD, and PTSD throughout my three perinatal periods, I found that resources for women suffering PMADs are hard to find. Resources from a distinctly Christian perspective are even more scarce. Christians talk about PMADs as if prayer and Bible reading alone will work. Others take a secular approach and throw in spiritual disciplines. I believe that neither of these approaches fully apply biblical truth to the situation and equip the Church to care for members suffering from PMADs. A holistic, comprehensive approach is needed, one that considers a complete biblical worldview regarding sin, redemption, who we are as persons, and more. My goal is to provide a theology for perinatal mood disorders to encourage women in their suffering and equip their support teams to minister to them effectively.
